Who are the
Associates of the Society of Saint
Francis? The Associates
are: Franciscans: The
Associates are an interfaith, interdenominational fellowship within the
Episcopal Church. We are devoted to the way of St.
Francis in our dedication to the life of the Gospel.
Like Francis, we are especially dedicated to the way of peace, the
preservation of the environment and helping the poor.
Companions: We are companions
in our spiritual journey to the Brothers of the Society of St. Francis,
the Sisters of the Community of St. Francis, and the Brothers and Sisters
of the Third Order of the Society of St. Francis. We consider ourselves to
be spiritually connected to all Franciscans of all denominations
throughout the entire world.
Spiritual: We live life in the spirit, dedicated
to worshipping God in our day to day lives. We are
female, male, partnered or single, clergy or lay people all called to
share a common in the exploration of Franciscan spirituality.
To further this life of the spirit, we live by a
Rule of Life, which all Associates write for
themselves. Community: Although we may be
far apart geographically, we remain aware of the common life we live in
Christ and St. Francis. Many Associates are members of
a local Third Order fellowship, or meet regularly and/or correspond with
First Order brothers and sisters. We also stay in touch
through the internet, through correspondence, and via
newsletters. Seekers of spiritual truth, and an ever-deepening
knowledge of God and God’s work in
creation. If you have any
more questions about the Associates, please contact:
